Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 232 (TSSC232)

Here we go again--I have to say that I am a bit disappointed at the amount of people playing along the last few weeks but the good news is that it gets me stamping every Monday morning to start my week off right!  Here is this week's sketch....

Not the easiest one out there but I bet you guys will rock it!  I have to say I am surprising happy with my sample.  Different, simple and fun!  What do you think?

For my circles I used the 1 3/4 inch punch and scored two sides at 1/4 then folded it over to create the little flaps--you may have to click on the card to be able to see what I mean.  The colors are Chocolate Chip, Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White.  The stamp sets used are Serene Silhouettes and Blessings from Heaven.  I also used the tulips border embossing folder and the polka dot one too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today--I hope you choose to play along.  Remember it is a blog hop so if you add the code to you blog while in the HTML mode your readers can play along right from your blog!

Can't wait to see your creation with this sketch--hurry up and get stamping!  Them come on back and add your samples below!

Happy new week!
Mary Jo

Stampin 411 Challenge 265

As soon as I seen this sketch on the 411 sketch blog, I knew I was finally going to use the new Blue Ribbon stamp set.  The sketch is perfect for it.  And I think it turned out really cute!  Don't you agree? At first I though it might be a bit much but I actually think it is great for the 11 year old boy that I made it for.

The colors are fun.  Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzlberry and Whisper White.  The designer paper is from the International BAzaar pack.  Other supplies used, white gel pen, scallop border punch, scallop circle punch, markers, banners die and Candle Crazy wheel builder.

Hope your week is going well so far!  Happy today!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch challenge 231 (TSSC231)

Yea, the sun is shinning and I am ready to start a brand new week!  Or course I always start my week out with my new sketch challenge.  If you are new to my blog or just visiting for a moment please check out the sketch challenge.  A new sketch is posted each week on Mondays but you have the full week to play along!  And it is a blog hop too!  That means if you add the code to your blog while you are in the edit HTML mode your readers can play along and view the samples right from YOUR blog!  Hope you have time to play this week!  Here is the sketch....

Pretty simple one this week!  I actually have two samples for you.  They are both using the sketch, both using the same colors and both using the same stamps but they look so different because of the flip of the sketch.  So fun how that works. Which one do you like better???

Funny that I wasn't sure I wanted this set when I seen it but after so many of my customers bought it I gave it a second look.  Yep!  I want it now--the cards for today challenge are done with my friend Joanie's stamp set.  Thanks Joanie!  Now I have to get my own.  Pretty bad when you are enabled by your customers/friends!

Both cards are using the Summer Silhouettes.  The sentiment on the first card is from the Blooming with Kindness and the sentiment on the second card is from a retired set of rub ons.  They both use Lucky Limeade, Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango and Whisper White

SO, which do you like best?

Can't wait to see your creation with this sketch--hurry up and get stamping!  Them come on back and add your samples below!

VC Rocks Blog Hop

Hostess gifts--that is the theme of our blog hop for this month!  I am the first stop and I am running late--seems to be the theme of the month.  Sorry guys--do not recall signing up for this one but must of.  So you are in luck!  You are about to check out some awesome ideas for non-card items and I know you will love them all!  Here is my sample for this hop--it is actually a gift for my roomie box (virtural rooming for our virtual convention).  It is not my only 3d item so it is ok if she sees it.  I know that she loves crosses so I thought this would be a fun project for a gift for her.

This project began as a really ugly chalkboard that I got on clearance somewhere.

I just altered it.  I altered another one like it for the last blog hop HERE.  What a fun and great project for only a few pennies.  Love it--hope you do too.

Now enjoy the rest of the hop!  I know it will be awesome--I am on my way to hop through too!  See ya there

Crazy Week!

So, how has your week been going--I sure hope better than mine. I will not go into all the details but lets just say that my bank--HSBC has changed over to Key or First Niagara depending on which branch you were at and it was supposed to be a simple change over with no problems for us! Sound good huh? Well let's just say--they lied, lol! And when you have no access to money you have lots of stressful situations come up! But all is figured out now and I am back to my normally scheduled program--running a bit late though. So this week's challenge on LNS was to do Embedded Embossing. This is a really cool technique that makes some beautiful cards. The technique makes your paper look like you have somehow embedded stamped images or pieces of paper into your base card stock. All you need is an embossing folder and a big shot.  Adhere something on a piece of card stock. either a stamped and cut/punched out image or other color card stock shapes.   Place the card stock in an embossing folder and run it through your big shot.  The layer gets embedded and looks fabulous! I used my lattice die cut and created this cross them attached it to a piece of Early Espresso card stock and then ran that piece through the bigshot with the square lattice embossing folder and this is the result.

Isn't it beautiful!  I love it.  This is the only reason I purchased this die--to make these crosses.   The banner is cut with a Spellbinders die and I embellished a bit with pencil to give it more dimension.  Why not come on over and play along with the challenge!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 230!

Here we go again!  Another Monday, and other sketch and hopefully lots of awesome samples to share.  I know many of you will be at conventions this week (lucky you!) but I am sure the rest of us will be able to find time to create with the sketch for this week!  Here it is....

I made mine into a regular size card instead of a square card.  This is my first time using this hostess set although I have have it for quite some time now--got it during the pre-order.

I does look like I might of used real read on this sample but it is actually Raspberry  Ripple along with Summer Starfruit.  I used the new argyle embossing folder on the top and scored lines on the bottom half. Hope you are on your way to a great week!  Don't forget you have until Sunday night to play along--add you sample to the linky tool below.  It is a blog hop too so if you add the code to your blog while in HTML mode your readers can play along too right from your blog!

Happy stamping!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 229 (TSSC229)

A day late but so worth it, I just love camping with my son.  Came home for a day--me and hubby are tag teaming the time--so he has the next few days.  Hope you are inspired by this week's sketch to play along.  Thanks so much to those of you who played along last week! There were only four players so all of you are welcome to add my winner badge to your blog if you so desire.  Thanks again.  Here is this week's sketch...

Ink: Gumball Green, Basic Black, Midnight Muse
Other: markers, Word Window punch,  Modern Label punch

Don't forget you have until Sunday night to play along--add you sample to the linky tool below.  It is a blog hop too so if you add the code to your blog while in HTML mode your readers can play along too right from your blog!

Happy stamping!

So many challenges...so little time!

I have two challenge cards to share with you today.  One is for the 411 sketch challenge and one for Create with Connie and Mary sketch.  Both sketches were really fun this week.  Different and I like that!

The first is the 411 sketch..which by the way I thought I still had time to post since the linky tool is still open--but I see they picked their top three already--sad face, lol. Lesson learned see when the challenge ends and not when the linky closes--I just assumed they were the same--and we all know the saying about what happens when we assume.

My mom asked for some anniversary cards so I am sure you will see a few in the next few days.  This is the first.  Love these colors and this darling stamp set!  Details will be at bottom of post.

Next up is the Create with Connie and Mary sketch another fun one.  I flipped it on its side though and made this super fun birthday card using it.

I love the colors they are just so fun.  What a cute stamp set this one is too!  Here are the details for each card.

Card one.
Stamps: For the Birds, Teeny Tiny Wishes, and an old retired stamps set for the Love Birds sentiment.
Paper: Island Indigo, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Twitterpated dp
Ink: Basic Black, Riding Hood Red
Other: pinking hearts border punch, markers

Card two:
Stamps: Animal Talk
Paper: Daffodil Delight,  Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Floral District DP
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze
Other: markers, end of pencil eraser for dots.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend.  I am so looking forward to mine.

Digital Scrapbook Page

For the challenge on Sudsol this week!  It was such a simple sketch I had to make a quick page.  That is what is so great about the MDS program, you can make a page in just 15-20 minutes and be all cleaned up at the touch of a button!  Wish all my cleaning was this easy!

Here is the sketch...

Quick and easy.  I don't get many pictures of my men dressed up, lol.  They are the type who love to be dirty--working on cars, riding or fixing things--always into something and generally not into dress clothes!

Hope you have a great Thursday!
Thanks for stopping by.

LNS--Trash to Treasure!

This week on the Latenightstamper's group our challenge is to go GREEN use something that would be trash on your project.  This is one of those challenges that generally make me cringe and wait to the last minute to do.  Not because it is hard but mostly because I am lazy, lol.  I like the fast gratification of making cards--not too much thinking just kind of do.  But you need to do a little thinking to turn a piece of garbage into something you can use again.  But I think I made it work--although I did wait till the last minute as always.  I have a few of these containers sitting around because I was wondering if cards would fit in them but I was too lazy to check when I thought about it and too forgetful to remember to bring in down to my craft room on the other times. So I figured today is the day--I grabbed the empty Cascade packet container (love these) and crossed my fingers that cards were gonna fit--and I am happy to say that YES!!! they do.  I actually got 25 cards into this with five separators.  Would make a great gift don't you think?!

I didn't like the way the top was so crooked so I just took it off and decorated the rim and then made the tabs stick out a bit above the top.  I separated the cards into five categories of Birthday cards--Feminine, Masculine, Teens, Children and General and added five of each card with envelops.  The wording was done on the MDS.   Hope you enjoy, off to see the fireworks now!

Happy today!
