Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 274 (TSSC274)

I am happy that you stopped by today!  I hope you are excited to see the new sketch challenge for this week--it is a great one and the samples so are a pretty amazing.  Here is this week's sketch....

And of course we will start off with my card.  I combined my challenge card with the LNS bi-weekly challenge to do a fancy fold card.  Although you can not tell from the outside you can see inside that it is a fancy fold card.  And a fun and easy one at that!

Here is the inside....

It looks much nicer in person!  I love this DP and this new Crisp Cantaloupe color.

Stamps: Banner Greetings, Fabulous Florets, Feels Goods
Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, SoHo Subway DP
Ink: Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe
Other: circle framelits, Deco Labels framelits, Beautiful Wings embosslit, scallop edge punch, markers
My designer paper on the inside is 8 1/2 by 5 1/4 and a I scored at the following marks
2 1/8, 4 1/4 and 6 3/8
then used the framelits to cut out the center opening.  I cut out one smaller from the other color and used the frame of it to back the dp--this makes it stronger and gives it another layer for detail.

Want to see more samples--check out my talented Design Team's designs...

Lovely Lace--or is it???

The two week challenge on Latenight stampers has been to use lace on your card.   I was away the first week of the challenge and it took me all day to get the desire to go into the studio and make a card for this week of the challenge.  I don't have any lace stamps, I don't really have anything lace at all so I did not have a clue what to do--but then I decided to use my lacey ribbon punch, a doily (non-SU) and lacey Beautiful Baroque background embossing folder.  I couldn't find a current set to match so I just went with a bowl of cherries and decided to be done with it, lol.  Did you ever feel like that???  Anyway here is the card....

I guess it is what it is, even the picture is crooked,  lol!
Stamps: Giggle Greetings
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Daffidol Delight, Whisper White
Ink: BAsic Black
Other: ribbon punch, doily, beautiful baroque embossing folder, rhinestones, markers

I hope I feel like being crafty tomorrow--I have not had any desire to make anything lately???

Try Stamping on Tuesday!

Welcome to our Tuesday challenge.  This week I am trying to make a few cards with the new Sketched Birthday Set.  Yesterday's card used it and today's too!

I so love this new Crisp Cantaloupe color.  Mixed with the Early Espresso makes such a soft but elegant card.  I have fun with the SoHo Subway paper.  The pattern on the top is the other side of the candles I made.  I just rolled a pieces of the dp tightly and added a bit of baker's twine for the wicks.  Fun card.  I wanted to make the candles from money but had no-one in particular to give the card to and didn't want the money just sitting there for like--ever like some of the cards I make, lol!

Come on over and play along with the rest of the Design team on Try Stamping on Tuesday's blog

Stamps: Sketched Birthday, Bring on the Cake
Paper: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Crisp Cantaloupe, SoHo Subway DP
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: markers, candy dots, oval framelit, Bitty Banners framelits

Here is the sketch....

Happy Tuesday!  Enjoy your day!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 273 (TSSC273)

Wow, what a great week, we had quite the heat wave and I didn't get much stamping done but did do a lot of other fun things! I so love summer--it goes so fast though.

I am happy you stopped by today, I hope that after seeing this week's sketch and all the fabulous samples the Design Team has designed that you will find some time during the week to play along!  Tell you friends too--we would love to have more players each week!

Here is this week's sketch....

I have to say I was actually a bit stumped with this layout at first--I wanted to use something current and all the sets that popped into my head were retired.  So I forces myself to use the new Sketched Birthday set.  I have only used it once or twice and have struggled with how to use a few of the images.  So I forced myself to use it--not sure I love the sample, but I don't hate it either, lol.  I should have left off a few at least one of those dotted butterfly trails.

Stamps: Sketched Birthday, One in a Million, So Happy for You Retired SAB
Paper: Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Whisper White and Quatrefancy Specialty
Ink: Basic Black, Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush
Other: markers, scallop circle punch

Although I am not sure I really like my card, I do love the samples the Design Team made for this sketch...

Try Stamping on Tueday!

I am so loving my butterfly stamp--once I finally inked it up I am finding it so easy to make quick and pretty cards.  Today is one of those....

Stamps: Swallowtail, Sweet Essentials
Paper: Island Indigo, Very Vanilla, SoHo Subway DP
Ink: Island Indigo
Other :rhinestone and my favorite candy dots!

Pretty clean and simple design--of course the sketch is from our Try Stamping on Tuesday challenge.  Here is this week's sketch...

Fun sketch, although it really made me think again--I think it is the swirls that we have on many of the recent sketches that make them feel hard to me.  I don't have images like that and always have to try to figure out what to do to utilize that area.  But this time I went with plain old candy dots--once I get past the swirls I am all set, lol!  Come on over and play along--or just see what others have done with the sketch!

Enjoy the HOT day!  Love it, spent the day at the beach yesterday--and I am like a french fry today, lol!

Chalk Talk

I am loving this simple layout.  I was inspired by a card I saw on the Hero Arts blog but can't find it now to see how close it is, lol.  I did it from memory.  I just remember there was writing and a image above it and some dp on the side so that is what I have, lol!  Oh and a button!  This is my favorite image from this set.  So fun....

Stamps: Chalk Talk
Paper, Pool Party, Whisper White, Quatrefancy Specialty DP
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo,
Other: butterfly embosslet, metal button, SAB pool party ribbon, black marker, 1 3/8 inch circle punch

Whoops, I take back all that talk at the beginning, I found the card--here it is.

Such a cute layout, I love to find cards I like by other companies and make it with our products!  So fun.  I actually like mine better--this time!  That is not always the way it works out but this time I like the colors and butterfly--the button weighs a ton though--this are not cards to be mailed with these heavy metal buttons on them.

Any way, I am happy you stopped by today!
