On the grow!

I am so far behind on my posts, I don't remember what I have posted and what I have not.  I made this card a while ago but see I have not posted it yet.  So today is it's lucky day!

I was playing with my Copic air gun.  Such an easy card.  I really like it though.  The green paper that I used for the grass is an old retired SAB kit.  Such a fun kit that I think I had about 20 of them.  Still have pieces floating around.

Stamps: On the Grow, Friends Jumbo Wheel
Paper: Marina Mist, Whisper White, retired dsp from SAB kit
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Copics, air gun, cutting tool, cloud punch (non stampin up), black marker.

Hope you are having a super week.

CAS-Color challenge

This card is for a few challenges.  First the VC_Rocks challenge for the week to make a CAS (clean and simple) card using Poppy Parade, Concord Crush and Peach Parfait and also having either a flower, person or animal on it.  I chose to combine that with the 411 sketch challenge.  It was a great simple sketch this week.  You can view the sketch HERE.  Here is my card combining the challenges...

The colors look a bit dark in the picture.  The base of the card is Concord Crush followed by Whisper White.  Then the three panels are all from the in color paper pad.  The flower is stamped on Whisper White, colored in with the Peach Parfait marker and highlighted with the Poppy Parade markers.  It is cut out by hand and layered on a jumbo scallop punch of Concord Crush.  The flower is from the Flower Fest stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Friends Jumbo Wheel.  I colored the words in with the markers and then punched them out using the Modern Label punch.  To finish it off I added a pearl to the center of the flower.

You can also view the inside of the card.  The sentiment on the inside is from the Occasional Quotes set.  Hope you have a great day.

Top Three For Sketch 179!

It has not been the best of weeks around here.  My sister in law passed away yesterday and we are just so sad.  She was only 50 years old we will miss her dearly.  But the good news is that here suffering is over--so hard to watch someone you love (anyone for that matter) be in pain.

Here are my top three picks for this week from the participants from last week.  Check them out if you have not already! Here are my top three picks. Be sure to click on each preview picture to be taken to the creator's blog and original post to see the full card and all the details. And of course to leave a comment telling them how great their cards are!

Couple of challenge samples for VC_Rocks

I actually have been so busy that even if I find time to stamp I have NOT been able to find time to post.  Sorry about that but stuff happens, right?!

Here are two samples for this week's challenge on VC_rocks.  We were to used the one of the in color collections or the brights collection and make a birthday project.  I used the brights for the scrapbook page and the brand new not released yet-in colors from the new catalog on the card. I also used a set that will be in the new catalog.  Hope you enjoy.  I don't have all the details in front of me so if you have questions please feel free to leave it in the comments section.  Add your e-mail so I can reply--blogger does not give me e-mails to reply to comments.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Enjoy your weekend!  Mary Jo

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 179! (TSSC179)

Moving right along with our challenges!  Here is week number 179!  Another circle sketch.  Hope you have fun with it.

My sample is using a brand new set that will be in the new catalog.  Only the duck image is part of the set.  The words are from a different non Stampin Up! set. I had to keep it pretty simple since I only had five minutes this morning, lol!  I tried out my copic air brush system that I have had for over a year and only used once.  I didn't like it but found out this weekend that I had it hooked up wrong--go figure, lol!  So here is my fast and super simple--yet kind of cute sample!

Don't forget that we are now doing a blog hop with the sketch challenge. That means if you add the code to the Edit HTML section of your post all of the samples will also show up on your blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by and can't wait to see what you come up with for this sketch.

For the boys! Blogger's challenge.

I have missed the last few week's of the Blogger's challenge due to being so busy with end of school and a couple of family deaths and of course my sister in law is actually doing better (a few weeks ago we didn't think we would have her around this long) now we think she will be around for a bit!  Not sure how long but we will take what we can get!  I hope you are all having a great week.  Enjoy all the fabulous projects that the girls have made for this challenge.  Masculine is hard for many so I am sure you will get new ideas on this hop.  Here is my card for the challenge.

I am so in love with this stamp set (I know I am repeating myself from past posts) It is so easy to work with.

Enjoy your weekend!

Clean Birds!

This was one of the cards for my All Occasions Class this month.  Such a cute image, don't you think?  This stamp set is from the new Summer mini it is called Touch of Kindness.  I also used the sentiment stamp set called Happy Greetings.

This also qualifies for this week's challenge on Latenightstampers--to make a card that has something/anything to do with water.  I figure the bird bath certainly works here!

Stamps: Touch of Kindness, Happy Greetings
Paper: Real Red, So Saffron, Whisper White, real red dp
Ink: Basic Black
Other: markers, corner rounder, floral embossing folder

Thanks for stopping by today.  See ya tomorrow for the blogger's challenge which will feature another card from this months class.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 178! (TSSC178)

Happy Monday!  And welcome to another week of my lunchtime sketch challenge.  This week's sketch is a fun one. I hope you will have time to play along.  As the weather gets nicer it becomes harder and harder to find time to stamp, lol!  Our summers are too short around here, lol!  Anyway on to the new challenge...

My sample is using a color combo I do not use too often but I sure love it...

I was so hoping that this set would make the next catalog but it has not so if you want it you better get it before the mini is up.  Such a great set.  Very easy to work with.

Stamps: Strength and Hope,
Paper: More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Earth Elements paper pack
Ink: More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler
Other: embossing folder, scallop edge border punch, nestabillities dies, photo corner punch, pearls

Don't forget that we are now doing a blog hop with the sketch challenge. That means if you add the code to the Edit HTML section of your post all of the samples will also show up on your blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by and can't wait to see what you come up with for this sketch.

Top Three For Sketch 177!

Fun samples this week!  Again.  I had a hard time picking but managed after a cup or two of coffee.  I am posting a bit late since I had to keep the VC_rocks blog hop at the top of my blog for the entire weekend.  That was fun.  If you didn't have a chance to check it out you can see it on the previous post.  The hop was featuring the Big Shot and had some really fun designs.  So on the the top three for the week.  These are in no particular order....

Be sure to click on each preview picture to be taken to the creator's blog and original post to see the full card and all the details.  And of course to leave a comment telling them how great their cards are!

It's a Blog Hop--Big Shot Madness Style

VC_ROCKS BIG SHOT MADNESS
Join me and 32 of my fellow VC_rocks members as we hop around to see some fabulous projects showcasing our Big Shot!  That is right there are 33 stops on this tour so be sure have your favorite drink and a few minutes.  Of course you can always do it a little at a time, but once you get started you know you won't want to stop.  The projects will be well worth the time!  There is a full list of the participating blogs in order on the VC_rocks home page if you get lost or find a link that is not working.    I hope you enjoy my projects for today.  I needed a thank you gift for a teacher that loves butterflies and purple.  So this is what I came up with.  There is the main card that my son and I will be signing and then there is a box with four cards and envelopes and a calendar/memo hanger,   I hope she likes it.  Here is the picture of the whole group.

I tried to keep it pretty simple and only use a few items.  I focused on the Top Note die and the Strength and Hope stamp set.  Here are the items individually... the main card...

This one has only the tops of the top note on it.  You can see them above the sentiment.  Here is the box with it's matching cards.

And the calender/memo hanger...

So do you think she will like it?  I hope so.  All of the projects use the same items:

Stamps:  Strength and Hope and Swirls and Curls Hostess set (both in current mini catalog)
Paper: Concord Crush, So Saffron, Whisper White and in color dp pack
Ink: Concord Crush and So Saffron
Other: white organza ribbon, top note big shot die, embossing folders, jumbo eyelets, rhinestones, circle scissors plus, white gel pen, tool kit

Have fun on the rest of the tour!

Things with Wings

This week's challenge on VC_rocks is to create a project with birds.  So I thought it was about time I made a new punch art design.  This little guys was super easy!  Hope you think he is as cute as I do---

The card is called a topper card.  It is the same size as a regular card when you add it the top part.  The bottom part is 4 1/4 by 8 1/2 folded in half to make a 4 1/4 inch square.  I used Daffodil Delight and Real Red along with Whisper White.   The scallop circle is from the Quick Accents Celebrations Kit.

For the bird.  His head is made with the Round Tab punch.  His feathers on top of his head along with his feet are both made from the BoHo Blossoms punch.  His body is the ornament die with the top cut off.  The wings are one scallop oval cut in half and his tail is the Modern Label punch.  Pretty easy.

Hope you are having a great week.  We had wonderful weather today which was great since I spent the day at Fort Niagara with my son and his class.  Fun field trip.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 177! (TSSC177)

Here we go again!  Another week seems to go faster and faster each week.  I hope your week was a good one.  Looks like we are going to have some nice weather here this week--finally!  Anyway, on to this week's sketch challenge.  I hope you have time to play along.  I combined the sketch with the new Latenightstamper's challenge for the week--to create graduation cards.  My is a bit different but I think it is cute.
Here is the sketch...

And my card...

I am so sorry this adorable set will be retiring on June 30th.  I love it.  I hand drew the tree and graduation cap.

Stamps: Just Buzzin By,
Paper: Real Red, More Mustard, Whisper White, Pear Pizazz
Ink: Basic Black
Other: markers, brads, embossing folder

Can't wait to see you card using this sketch.  I actually had a bit of a hard time with the open space on the right of the card. Don't forget you can add the code to your post while in the Edit HTML mode and it will add all the samples to your blog too!
Happy Monday!

Here are my top three picks from last week's sketch.  Be sure to click on each preview picture to be taken to the creator's blog and original post to see the full card and all the details.  And of course to leave a comment telling them how great their cards are!

What to give a male teacher?!

This is the first year that my son has a male teacher and it has been difficult to figure out gifts for him.  But I finally decided to go with this little quote book.  Each pocket has a pull out insert.  The first one will have a gift card from Amazon the middle one will have a personal thank you from my son and the last pocket will have another gift card for Subway (I think?).  What do you think?  I have not bought the cards yet so I may change my mind but you can get ANYTHING from Amazon!  All the the quotes are computer generated.

Wow, that was a real pain to load, seems like Blogger is being cranky today!  Kind of like my hubby, lol!  So do you think it is appropriate? Do you think it is good for a male teacher? The pockets are made with coin envelopes.

Hope you have a great day.

VC-rocks challenge

Here are my two samples for the VC-rocks challenge. Here is the challenge...

Easy Challenge:

Make a card using 3 colors from the Regals collection and one brown from the neutrals. You must also use two embellishments. Stamps must be in the current catalog.

A Step harder Challenge:
Make a scrapbook page following the above requirements PLUS you must include journaling, title, and pictures. I would say the scrap page needs to be 12 x 12 but I will be nice and let those of you who don’t scrap that size a break.

And my samples....

I love to use the Tess stamp set with other sets.  This one is perfect-that is about the size of my coffee cup--almost!

And here is my scrapbook page done with the My Digital Studio program...

I hope you are having a great week!  If you have any questions feel free to ask.  Day two of a migraine and don't feel like typing right now.   Seems like I am getting these at least once a month now!  UGGG!!!!
