Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 282 (TSSC282)

So excited to start a fresh week.  I was pretty sick last week and didn't get to do much at all besides what HAD to be done, lol.  So it is good to start fresh--and since it is a new week it is also time for a new sketch!  Hope you find time to play along.  Here is the sketch....

And of course my sample....

This card kind of took on a life of it's own--I used all supplies that were within a few inches of my work space, lol.  I started with a piece of Baja Breeze DP with stripes on it and sponged over a paper doily that was on my desk.  After that it kind of looked like gears to me so I pulled out my  clockworks stamp set and used the watch--weird but that was what came to mind.  Then I had the Happy Hour stamp set out so I thought why not make that work with it too!  The sentiment was good with out the drink but I thought it might be fun to add a drink to it--so as I said it took on a life of it's own!  Funny how that works--or don't works--sometimes!  Now for the rest of the Design Teams samples--their samples always work!  They are so talented and I am so lucky to have them designing with my sketches.  Remember if you click on the name below the sample you will be taken to the creator's blog and you can leave them a bit of love!

Now it is your turn--go forth and create!  Come on back and share you creation with us when you are done.  Add your direct link to Mr. Linky below.  Here are some general rules of play....
  1. You have a full week to play along!
  2. Create a new card using the sketch as your inspiration.
  3. Use any products you choose.
  4. Add your card to your blog or other on-line spot and link back to this challenge.
  5. Come back here and add a direct link to your sample for the challenge and NOT you home page of your blog--people will not look for your challenge card--trust me.
  6. And this one is not really a rule but a request--get rid of that word verification!  It makes it hard for us to comment on your samples.  It is easier for you to delete the spam then for us to jump through tons of hoops to comment.  If your put your comments on moderation you do not have to worry about spam--you will have the option to delete it BEFORE it ever goes on your blog so you will ALWAYS be safe!
  7. Have fun and tell you friends to play too!
    Thanks, Mary Jo

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 281 (TSSC281)

What a great weekend I had!  I spent the whole weekend with the women from my church at our annual women's retreat.  So refreshing and fun. It was awesome--I wish we could do it once a month.

We are back home today and back to our regular schedule with means we are starting a new sketch challenge for this week.   Here is the sketch....
and here is my sample.....

You will see when you look below that a few of the Design Team and I were on the same page this week--great minds think a like right!

I really thought this was a fun card.  I still have a bunch of these retired felt snowflakes and I thought they would look great with this layout.  The colors are Pool Party-Baja Breeze and Whisper White.  I added Baja ink the the embossing folder before running a piece of Pool Party paper though it for the two tone embossed effect!  The glimmer paper and rhinestone make this glimmer which is the challenge on LNS this week!  So we are filling two challenges with one card!  Now check out what the rest of the team has done with this sketch....

So many fun samples to get you excited about creating--so go on and do it!  Come on back and share you creation with us when you are done.  Add your direct link to Mr. Linky below.  Here are some general rules of play....

Flashback Friday!

I am in a Christmas mood for some reason.  So I am continuing on that path for a few days--not sure what happened to fall, lol.  This week's flashback Friday is using the set from 2007 called Sidekick Sayings.  Here is my sample.....

And here is the set....

I also combined it with the retired paper I used on yesterdays Happy Hour Christmas card.  (see previous post)  The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Lucky Limeade--the other other products are markers, white ribbon and the scallop border punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by today--hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Finally--my sketch challenge and the LNS challnege too!

I always seem to get into some type of funk with my crafting in September--maybe because it is such a crazy busy month for me--I really need to get one or two things off the September calender next year seems EVERYTHING has to be done in September, lol.  What is wrong with the other months???  Oh well, it is what it is!

I finally got around to doing my sketch challenge for this week--here is the sketch in case you forgot by now!

and here is my sample, I combined it with the LNS challenge to make a teacher gift. I kept it crazy simple by making a card and then matching up a few magnetic clothes pins and a fancied up ruler--how simple is that project--modge podge and scrapbook paper and you have a pretty ruler-from a really cheap one!

It was made even simpler by using the pretty daisy embellishments that I have had laying around for years.  I believe they are K and Company--but not really positive.

The colors on the card are Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink and Daffodil Delight along with Very Vanilla

Hope you are having a great week.
Here is a new picture of my puppies for you too
they are the other part of what is keeping me busy--what was I thinking with two, lol.

Can you read those eyes--they are saying but mom, we want to stay up and play--it is only 10pm!

Happy Today
Mary Jo
