Big on Christmas and Birthdays!

One more sketch challenge down! This is sketch 15 from Sara's Desperate Stamper Blog.

This card was so fun to make. As soon as I seen this set I knew I wanted to change this up to make the set more versatile. I can not believe I have not seen it done yet, after all it took me forever to get the set and then it has been sitting on my table for a couple of days waiting to be mounted. I really do not like mounting stamps so sometimes I only mount the ones I need at the moment. But the most awesome thing happened yesterday, a dear friend stopped by and mounted at least 6-7 sets for me! How nice was that, I am so excited cuz it might of been weeks before this card came to life! Thanks Laura, love ya!

So for the details on the card. The base of this 6 x 6 card is textured real read cardstock from the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin Kit. It is followed by a layer of textured pretty in pink that has paper piercing on the two left hand corners. The side strip is a piece of the designer paper from the same kit that has been embossed with the swirls Cuttlebug envelope. I was trying to bring in the swirls from the present. I attached this embossed piece to a piece of real red and added three red brads to both the top and the bottom. Next is the main image. I stamped only the H-PPY from the Happy Holidays stamp in the Big on Christmas Set. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the present from the retired set Tag time. I stamped it once on the main image and once on a scrap of the same striped paper that is used on the side. I cut out the one on the designer paper and glued it on top of the main image. And then using my stamp-a-ma-jig again I stamped the word Birthday from Sincere Salutations. There are specks stamped on the main image in bashful blue and pretty in pink with the Itty Bitty Backgrounds set. I added a small strip of textured bashful blue that had been punched with the spiral punch to the side of the image after layering it on real red. I tied a piece of rose ribbon to the top notch. the card is finished off with another piece of rose ribbon with a large red oval and a small white over with the words from Simple Sayings II stamped on it. I used a red marker to free hand the dots around the mini greeting. Hope you enjoy.
