Holy Triptych - another sketch card.

Another sketch.




I am not sure how the heck I think I will catch up on these sketches -- but I am sure having fun trying. This is sketch number 10 on Sara's Desperate Stampers blog. I love the concept of my card but am not sure what it is lacking? I am not 100% satisfied with it but did not want to add more because I did not want to take away from the main image. This is one of the most beautiful Christmas sets Stampin Up! has come out with in quite some time. (of course that is just my opinion and we all know what they say). So enough of all that and on to my card.....






I seem to be making a lot of these 6 by 6 cards all of a sudden. Funny how we get in little design grooves. The main image is the Holy Family from Holy Triptych. It is stamped in VersaMark and embossed with detail gold powder. I then cut it out with my mega scallop oval punch. I water colored the image using my Aqua Painter and ink pads. I also added a bit of a "glow" with my pastels. The colors of ink I used to do my coloring were: Certainly Celery, Soft Sky, Sage Shadow and Always Artichoke. The halo is done in barely banana marker and the star is the Summer Sun Marker. I layered the scalloped oval on an oval I cut with my Coluzzle of Always Artichoke and then a bigger oval of Soft Sky. The designer series papers are from the Wintergreen collection. The base of the card is Certainly Celery. Followed by Always Artichoke and then the designer series paper. I did slip one more layer of Certainly Celery in between the layers of designer series paper. The greeting is also embossed with gold and can be found in the new Star Studded Season Set. There are also three antique brass brad used. I was thinking about using this for a swap card on one of my groups but now that I showed it I probably shouldn't -- some people like a surprise. Does anyone else love Maxine

It seems that I am always dieting. I go up and down by 15 pounds all the time. So when I seen these two Maxine clips they just struck me as OH SO TRUE. The first will tell you why I am always up and down: because I really enjoy a huge greasy burger -- the kind that drips grease when you eat it and I want lots of cheese on it too! I am actually getting hungry now. And for those that know me you know that I can't get through a day without my coffee. My seven year old always says "Coffee is your power source Mom!"




And of course this next one tells you why I am always on a diet. This too is true!



I really enjoy Maxine. Hope you did too. It is hard getting old, lol.

Did I tell you I love the set Fun and Fast Notes Lately?

I just love this card! I just love this set! It is so easy to use -- I mean Fast and Fun to use. The base of the card is Taken with Teal. Next is So Saffron which is eventually pierced with my paper piercer--image that! I then used a 3 3/4 by 3 1/4 inch piece of scrap designer paper. I had a whole bunch of pieces left over from an other project. Next is a 3 by 3 1/2 piece of Taken with Teal and a scallop square of Pretty in Pink. The bird from Fast and Fun Notes is stamped on Whisper White and then punch out with the 1 3/8 inch circle punch. I colored him in with my So Saffron marker. The stem is colored with the Certainly Celery Marker and the shadow is the Sahara Sand marker. I made sure to cut off most of the flower so that I could paper piece it later and have it hang over the circle. The flower was stamped on and cut from some teal colored designer series scraps. The card is finished off with the Happy Birthday saying from It's Your Birthday stamped in Black, paper piercing around the focal image piece and a piece of pink polka dot organdy ribbon. Isn't this a brilliant idea? I seen this scallop punch coneflower on Connie's blog INKspired Treasures and knew I had to try it. I combined it with sketch number 9 on Sara's Desperate Stamper blog. List of supplies used. Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Summer Sun and Close to Cocoa card stock. Garden Green and Pumpkin Pie ink. Summer Sun and Close to Cocoa markers. Circle punch, scallop circle punch misc. sticky white button type thingys (how that for a descriptive name). Stamp Sets: Polka Dots & Paisley, Just Like You and the retired Brighter Tomorrow and Art of Life.

Using Up More Scraps

Here is a really fast and super easy -- but cute card. It looks cute with the deer from this set too. Plus as an added bonus you can use up more of those scraps! I used the Moose You stamp set. Supplies used. So Saffron, black and Whisper White card stock, retired designer papers. Inks: So Saffron and Chocolate Chip. I also used new ribbons, the scalloped circle punch, and 1/2 inch circle punch and of course my paper piercer. How easy is that!! Off to cub scouts, I am the den mom for my sons den.
