Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 348.

Ahhh, Monday again! And the first sketch challenge for 2015!  I am excited about the new year, I love new beginnings and the idea of fresh starts.  2014 was a great year but I am looking forward to an even better 2015!  So to beginning the new year of sketches I have a really easy one for you this week...

Before I share my samples for this week's sketch I am going to mix it up a bit with a fun little Blog Hop--my stamping friend and extremely talented design team member Mary Brown (see her post HERE) has nominated me to participate in the Creative Blog hop.  It is really just a hop around showing different Stampin Up! only designs and taking a bit of time to get to know the designers and how they create.  Kind of fun to see inside the designer's mind and learn a bit about them.  Each participant has four questions to answer along with sharing their samples for the blog hop.   I will begin with my samples--which are created from this week's sketch!  I have two samples that are really just the reverse of each other.  I cut out the strips of Lucky Limeade card stock from the card on the right and layered them on the card on the left.  No leftovers!  Both cards are using the same supplies.

Stamps: A Dozen Thoughts and Pictogram Punches
Paper: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green, Whisper White, DP
Ink: Black, Primrose Petals
Other: punch for flowers

and now for the questions and some quick answers.
By the way I have nominated two people to keep the blog hop going and they will be posting next Monday -- I hope you will check them out and learn a bit about them--the samples they share will be worth the stop-I promise. Check them out!

and

Now the quick questions:
What are you working on?  At the moment I am overly excited about a new embroidery machine I got for Christmas--a couple weeks early.  I have embroidered many many items--anything I can get my hands on actually!  I am also working on creating new sketches for this year of sketches, and more tutorials for  my readers using new stamp sets and of course some thank you cards for Christmas.

How does your work differ from others in your genre?   I am not really sure how to answer this question.  I know that my work can be picked out from others by people who know my style but I am not really sure what that style is myself--it is kind of like know what shape your own face is of what body type you are--I can never really answer that for myself--I don't think I pay that much attention to myself, lol.  I just do what makes me happy.

Why do you create what you do?  This is a good question.  I love to create, it is very therapeutic for me--I can spend hours in my studio and not even realize how long I have been in there.  I truly enjoy the actual creating part more than any other part.  I have so many cards just piled up everywhere--I can not ever send as many as I make but I keep on making them and then give them away in piles!  I have already given away quite a bit of embroidery work too.

How does your creative process work? I am very inspired by other designers.  I love to just spend some time on Pinterest looking around and pinning different designs that I love--but I generally do not ever go back to CASE them--I just use all the ideas floating around in my head from looking to create my own thing.  I also love to use challenges--they are just a great way to get your creative juices flowing.

So that was it, now are you ready to get your creative juices flowing by checking out what the AMAZING design team has created with this week's sketch....

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 343 (TSSC343)

Hello my friends!  Can you believe it is already the first of December!  Holy sh--!  I am so not ready for the holiday!  I am crazy with too much other stuff--like the new embroidery machine I just bought myself yesterday--Merry Christmas to me--of course I don't even know how to sew more than a straight stitch so it will take a bit to learn--learned how to thread it today and played along for a bit.  But of course since it is Sunday night I had to think about the new sketch challenge.  So I put the embroidering down and worked on the sketch--hope you have time to play along too.  Here is the sketch for you to try this week......

I think this is a really fun sketch--although I really didn't like my card at all, lol. Too much other stuff on my mind. But sorry to say you are still going to see it! Here is my sample...

It was one of those cards that just kept going and going--I couldn't get it to look like I wanted it to.  And the colors on the picture are pretty bad too.

Stamps:  Flower Patch, A Dozen Thoughts
Paper: Basic Black, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Flower Pot DP
Ink: Basic Black, Lost Lagoon
Other: sequins, oval dies, Flower Flair dies, rhinestones, thread

Here is the rest of the team's designs--they did a great job!

Amazing!  I love all of them--why didn't I think of any of those ideas?!
Thanks girls, you really rocked this one.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 328 (TSSC328)

So it happened again--I did not get back on to add any more posts since last week's challenge.  Every time I think I am caught up with stuff --  I am NOT!  Oh well at least I get this done each week--that is something--and I have a card for tomorrow too as it is my week to post for the Try Stamping on Tuesday challenge so it will be at least two days in a row!  Anyway--the important things is the sketch, right?!  So here is this week's sketch....

It is another simple one this week so I hope to see a lot of samples!  Here is mine to get us started.

I am pretty dissapointed that I can not get the colors to look right on this-- maybe you can see them if you make it bigger.  I used a color combo from Create With Connie and Mary.

The soft sky looks almost white.  But it is not believe me--you can tell because the butterflies are stamped on white and the little bit around them is not the same as the background.  My son used my camera to take a photography merit badge at camp and I am struggling to get it back where I had it!  Ugg--I might have to take a silly class, lol.  Here are the supplies used for the card....

Stamps: Kind of Eclectic and A Dozen Thoughts
Paper: Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky, Old Olive, Whisper White
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive
Other: rhinestones, butterfly punches

Now for the best part of the post---- THE DESIGN TEAM'S SAMPLES!!!

I really thing it is going to be a great one.  My card is pretty easy as I just got home from a weekend away for a rugby championship with my son.  Great fun!  But didn't quite leave me with much time to create tonight, so I went directly to my butterflies as I don't think you can EVER go wrong with them!  Mixed in a few new in colors and I am loving it.

Stamps: Papillon Potpourri, Love and Sympathy, A Dozen Thoughts
Paper: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Whisper White and Sahara Sand,Moonlight Paper Pack
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Sahara Sand
