Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 285 (TSSC285)

Another busy week around here.  I was able to get my tutorial up and running (see my side bar if you missed it) but I did not get much else done.  So many non-stamping things going on--I know what the heck is up with that!  Right?!

Anyway it is a new week and I have a new sketch for you to try!  Here it is....

A bit different than my normal sketches but I thought it would be a fun to mix it up a bit.  I chose to create a fall card for my sample as that is the challenge for the next two week's on the Latenightstamper's group!

I used my favorite fall set--Gently Falling!  So easy to work with this set ( I have a tutorial with this set on my side bar too).  I chose to keep my card simple.  The swirls are from a retired Christmas set. And the sentiment is from the Yippee Skipee set. The colors are Very Vanilla, Summer Starfruit, Early Espresso, Tangerine Tango and Cherry Cobbler.  The only extras are the candy dots on the top--quick and cute card.  Now check out what the design team has done with the sketch....

I love that they showed so many different styles and seemed to hit on a bunch of different types of cards, fall, Christmas, love Halloween--they are just so creative!  Now it is your turn to play along. --don't forget to come on back and add you sample below.
Here are some general rules of play....

  1. You have a full week to play along!
  2. Create a new card using the sketch as your inspiration.
  3. Use any products you choose.
  4. Add your card to your blog or other on-line spot and link back to this challenge.
  5. Come back here and add a direct link to your sample for the challenge and NOT you home page of your blog--people will not look for your challenge card--trust me.
  6. And this one is not really a rule but a request--get rid of that word verification!  It makes it hard for us to comment on your samples.  It is easier for you to delete the spam then for us to jump through tons of hoops to comment.  If your put your comments on moderation you do not have to worry about spam--you will have the option to delete it BEFORE it ever goes on your blog so you will ALWAYS be safe!
  7. Have fun and tell you friends to play too!

    Thanks, Mary Jo

My prayers are with those of you who are dealing with Sandy--we got lucky and didn't get much.  But of course we are quite a bit inland--we never used to feel anything from these Hurricanes--where are everything is changing.

Hello Hello Hello

Just wanted to say hi!  Isn't this a fun, yet simple card.  The colors make me smile.  I hope they make you smile too!  This card and the card I posted yesterday are two of the projects that went with my stamp set of the month kit for September.

I love nice easy cards like this that still look great.  Would be great for a set of cards with a different saying on each.  Hmmm, may work on that later today!

Stamp Set: Gently Falling.

The colors used are Early Espresso, More Mustard, Pool Party and Very Vanilla.  The Designer Paper is from the Spice Cake Designer paper which is available as a digital download item # 125610 ($4.95).  The Hello Sentiment on the front of the card is from the retired stamp set  Happy Greetings.

Happy today!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 240 (TSSC240)

A brand new month!  Wow, time is just slipping away on me. I need it to sloooooooow down, lol!  Anyway, I know you are here to see this week's sketch challenge so I will get right to it. Here is the sketch......

Pretty easy huh?  I used it to make this fun fall card....

I am not sure how I forgot that Pool Party is still a current color!  I love it for fall cards.  The feeling to me is so soothing.  I think I should paint my bedroom Pool Party and add fall color accents.

Stamps: Gently Falling, Blooming with Kindless
Paper: Sahara Sand, Pool Party, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
Ink: Cajun Craze, Pool Party, Early Espresso
Other: spellbinder's circle and scallop circle dies, crochet ribbon, earth elements brad, embossing folder.

I am excited to see what you create with the sketch this week.  Remember to come back and add your link below on the blog hop.  If you add the code to your blog while in the HTML mode you can have your readers play along too right from your blog!

Happy Today!

Another Fall card--a swap gone bad!

This card was for a swap that I thought I was in but I miss read the details so after I hurried up and got my card done-last minute (cuz I forgot I signed up) and rushed to the post office I found out I was not part of the swap after all--go figure! But the good news is that I have a gift set to give to a friend of mine who loves this set!

It is always such a nice change of pace to use fall colors.  I love the relaxing feel of this card.

Stamps: Gently Falling, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Comfort Cafe DP
Ink: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Cajun Craze
Other: crochet ribbon, brad, bitty banners die, sponges, scallop border punch, tulip border embossing folder, markers

My son goes back to school tomorrow and I have a few last minute touches to put on some staff gifts.  See ya soon!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 236 (TSSC236)

Happy Labor Day to you!  Hope you are enjoying the extra day of relaxation today.  What better time to do some stamping and creating!  Here is this week's sketch challenge to give you a jump start!

I actually flipped it to use on it's side.  I am combing my sketch challenge with the new Latenightstamper's challenge for the week--Fall projects.  I have to say that the only thing that makes it easier for me to move on from summer to fall is the wonderful colors and textures of the season.  I am mostly a summer person.  I am said to realize that there are not many current fall stamps this year???  I think I only one this one--so be ready to see it used a lot.

I love these awesome buttons on this card--it is one of those embellishments that I buy and then hate to use, lol!  But I added three to one card!  Wow.  Now if I can get my self to give the card away, lol!

Stamps: Gently Falling, Moving Foward (sentiment)
Paper: Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Other: Chocolate Chip polka dot scallop ribbon, buttons.

Come on and play along--this is an easy sketch.  After you make your sample you can come on back and add you DIRECT link to the linky below!  It is a blog hop so if you add the code to you post while in the HTML mode your readers can play along right from your blog!

Happy Stamping!
