A couple of challenges!
This first card is for the Verve Sketch challenge on their blog. I don't own any of the Verve stamps "YET" but I still liked the sketch and a few random winners will get a new set from them so might as well try huh. This set is from the dollar bin at JoAnn's , I have had it forever so it is about time it seen some ink!
Stamps: You Lucky Duck (JoAnn's dollar bin)
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Old Olive, Whisper White card stock, Kiwi Kiss dp
Ink: Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss
Other: Copics, buttons, ribbon, scallop border punch, corner rounder, black marker
This next card is a mystery image. I am so glad to I am able to share this card with you. You see this is a swap that the hostess sends everyone the same mystery image, you have no idea what you will get. Then we are assigned partners and make a card with the mystery image. Well I received the images and set them aside because I was in the middle of something and then could not find them! I was getting nervous so I was trying to decide if I should try to find the stamp or e-mail the hostess and beg for more! Then out of no where they show up! Weird how that happens, I look and look and then when I give up---there they are. So needless to say this card went out a bit late to my partner, but she should have it by now?!? So here it is....
Isn't he cute, I love giraffes and this one just looks like he has the biggest smile on his face. I love it. I matched it up with a Hero Arts Sentiment set I had.
Stamps: Mystery Image Giraffe, Hero Arts Sentiment
Paper: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron, More Mustard, Whisper White
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: sizzix tag die, cuttlebug, brads, markers, Copics, Wide Oval Punch, white gel pen
Hope you like it Ida! Sorry it was late.
Thanks for stopping by. See ya soon.

Fun with the Top Note die!
So I have been really wanting some of the new Nestabilities but really can not be spending money right before a new Stampin Up! catalog so I thought I would find a way to improvise. Well after a whole day of playing I think I did come up with something. I am sure I like the one thing and not too sure about the other two but they are different and fun! So take a look yourself and let me know what you think. These cards were all created with the Top Note die for the Sizzix. There is a mini tutorial at the end. This first one has two different die cut shapes that were both made with the top note. I layered them on top of each other for a different look. The next one which was a mystery image swap is layered on top of my favorite shape with the top note, I like this better than the top note itself!
And this third card is using a left over scrap from making the above shape. I looks like a bracket don't it.
And then this last card was posted the other day but I thought I would re-post since this was the start of all of this.
Now I know you want to know how to do this yourself so here is a tutorial. You will begin with the top note die and any paper you wish. I chose two sided dp so that you can see. Cut you top note out and set aside your scrap.
Next you will re position the paper to make a second cut. All you need to do is turn it ninety degrees and center. See photo below.
After you make this cut you will have my favorite shape and two brackets.
So you can use that center piece alone or how about flipping over your paper and putting it back together for this look.....Or you can use them as brackets.
But if you want to take it even further to make the circular die cut I used on the thank you card all you have to do is set aside your brackets, and rotate your die cut ninety degrees again. See below.
And then one more time. See below.
How easy is that, now you have this neat looking circle. So much fun! I hope you are as excited as I am about this one. Makes me feel like I just got some new toys, lol!

Mystery Image Challenge -- and More Sketch Players!
It is time to share my card for this series of Mystery Image Challenges on one of the groups I am on. This is such a fun challenge. We sign up to play and then the hostess sends us all a mystery image. We all get the same image but have no idea what it will be until we get it, and we can not post it until our partner receives it. So I can post mine now. In all honesty I don't even know who the stamp is by so if you know and feel like letting me know I will update this post. The base of my card is Chocolate Chip followed by Apricot Appeal the the focal image which was stamped on Whisper White. I chose to cut out the insides of the area where the flowers are with my craft knife and the pop up that entire front piece with foam tape so that the Apricot Appeal would show through the cut out areas. I also popped up the front two flowers at different levels. The image is done with the pencil over maker technique. The butterfly and words are rub ons. My partner Rose was nice enough to take this picture that shows the detail a bit more. Thanks Rose, I sure hope you liked the card!
ETA: I have been informed by Melody that this stamp is a Impression Obsession stamp. Thanks so much Melody.
This is such a fun card, I hope you will play along.
