Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 258 (TSSC258)

Back to the grind--the kids are back in school and I am overloaded with things to do this week to make up for the time spent doing fun stuff--I am certainly not complaining though--I love when my son is off from school and we can do things together.  We actually went to the Corning Museum of Glass and made a bunch of fun stuff!  Anyway, on to the reason you are here...the new sketch challenge for this week...

I think it is going to be a great week with lots of awesome samples. I will start us off with one from me...

I combined my sample with the color challenge that starts today over on the Latenightstamper's blog! Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Old Olive.

Stamps: Crosses of Hope
Paper: Raspberry Ripple, Summer Starfruit, Old Olive and Whisper White
Ink: Raspberry Ripple
Other: markers, oval framelits, ribbon

Now for the super talented Design Team and their samples.
Follow the links below each to be taken to the creator's original post and all the details.

So there you have it--some awesome samples to get you itching to stamp.  Be sure to come back and add your sample to the linky tool below.
Thanks, Mary Jo

VC Rocks Blog Hop

Hostess gifts--that is the theme of our blog hop for this month!  I am the first stop and I am running late--seems to be the theme of the month.  Sorry guys--do not recall signing up for this one but must of.  So you are in luck!  You are about to check out some awesome ideas for non-card items and I know you will love them all!  Here is my sample for this hop--it is actually a gift for my roomie box (virtural rooming for our virtual convention).  It is not my only 3d item so it is ok if she sees it.  I know that she loves crosses so I thought this would be a fun project for a gift for her.

This project began as a really ugly chalkboard that I got on clearance somewhere.

I just altered it.  I altered another one like it for the last blog hop HERE.  What a fun and great project for only a few pennies.  Love it--hope you do too.

Now enjoy the rest of the hop!  I know it will be awesome--I am on my way to hop through too!  See ya there

Crazy Week!

So, how has your week been going--I sure hope better than mine. I will not go into all the details but lets just say that my bank--HSBC has changed over to Key or First Niagara depending on which branch you were at and it was supposed to be a simple change over with no problems for us! Sound good huh? Well let's just say--they lied, lol! And when you have no access to money you have lots of stressful situations come up! But all is figured out now and I am back to my normally scheduled program--running a bit late though. So this week's challenge on LNS was to do Embedded Embossing. This is a really cool technique that makes some beautiful cards. The technique makes your paper look like you have somehow embedded stamped images or pieces of paper into your base card stock. All you need is an embossing folder and a big shot.  Adhere something on a piece of card stock. either a stamped and cut/punched out image or other color card stock shapes.   Place the card stock in an embossing folder and run it through your big shot.  The layer gets embedded and looks fabulous! I used my lattice die cut and created this cross them attached it to a piece of Early Espresso card stock and then ran that piece through the bigshot with the square lattice embossing folder and this is the result.

Isn't it beautiful!  I love it.  This is the only reason I purchased this die--to make these crosses.   The banner is cut with a Spellbinders die and I embellished a bit with pencil to give it more dimension.  Why not come on over and play along with the challenge!
