Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 279 (TSSC279)

Here we go again!  If you read my previous post you know that I am having a crazy week.  With that being said I am about to share the new sketch challenge with you--and the wonderful design team samples--but mine is going to be a bit late--so sorry--you won't even miss it though when you see the fabulous cards the design team has for you.  Here is the sketch....

Don't t look like a fun sketch--you know I do these sketches in advance but then don't look at them again until the week is due so they are always a surprise to me too, lol!  I can't wait to play with this one.
Here are the wonderful samples from the Design Team....

Nicole Tugrul

Eileen LeFevre

Carolyn Bennett

Now it is your turn--can't wait to see what you do with this one.
Thanks so much for playing along.
Be sure to leave you link on the linky tool below.
Here are a few rules of play...
  1. You have a full week to play along!
  2. Create a new card using the sketch as your inspiration.
  3. Use any products you choose.
  4. Add your card to your blog or other on-line spot and link back to this challenge.
  5. Come back here and add a direct link to your sample for the challenge and NOT you home page of your blog--people will not look for your challenge card--trust me.
  6. And this one is not really a rule but a request--get rid of that word verification!  It makes it hard for us to comment on your samples.  It is easier for you to delete the spam then for us to jump through tons of hoops to comment.  If your put your comments on moderation you do not have to worry about spam--you will have the option to delete it BEFORE it ever goes on your blog so you will ALWAYS be safe!
  7. Have fun and tell you friends to play too!

Great samples don't you agree?!
Congratulations to all of you.

Flashback Friday!

Welcome to another week of Flashback Friday--where I find some old sets that are not being loved and make a card with them. I always loved this silly chicken set--Best of Cluck.  I used one of my favorite techniques for simple cards--stamp the image on Crumb Cake and then re stamp on Whisper White, cut out and past over the original image to make it really POP!  One of my favorite techniques for snowmen.

I kept it pretty simple.  Use the wood grain background embossing folder and added the hand drawn frame around the image panel.  Here is a picture of the set....

It really was/is a fun set.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend planned.  We have a busy one--not sure how much I like that, lol.  I am more of a relax type of person on the weekends, don't really like full hectic days.  Oh well, we make the best of what we have so I am sure it will be FABULOUS!  See ya on Monday!

Washi Tape to the Rescue

I have been wanting to make a card using this clear window sheet with the white design on it for quite a while but was not sure how to attach it so that it did not show on either side and then I finally thought of it--Washi Tape!  It worked perfectly!  It looks good from both sides! So here is my Summery card for the second week of the Latenightstamper's Summer Project challenge

You can not tell from the picture but this is actually a tri-fold card so that I could put a sentiment on the inside and sign it without it showing though the window sheet.  I love these colors together for a Summery feel--Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight along with a bit of Old Olive and Smokey Slate.

Stamps: Secret Garden, Banner Greetings
Paper: Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Old Olive and the Window Sheet
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate
Other: Secret Garden framelits, washi tape

Hope you are having a wonderful week!  Did you have a chance to see my newest tutorial--fall cards with the Gently Falling Stamp Set?

Try Stamping on Tuesday

Today's sketch at Try Stampin on Tuesday is dedicated to Back to School with a little twist...the use of metal or metallic color (silver, gold, bronze).

I really had no idea where I was going with this one--especially the metallic part -- my brain did not even think about paper clips and items of that nature as the answer--no I went with a gold marker and a gold and silver star??!!  Not the best idea but it did work, lol.

I used a bunch of items that I have not touched in years--the star is and apple are both sizzix dies, the circle is a framelit.  The paper is from one of those big paper packs that has a school theme from one of the box stores. It was a scrap piece so I do not even know who makes it.  But there you have it--a back to school theme card with metallic colors.  This will be for my son on Thursday when he goes back to school--whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!  I hate the end of summer.

By the way did you see my newest Fall tutorial?
