The elegance of Black and White

Blogger's Challenge #50

Today's challenge was to use black and white. I so love the look of these colors together. I think it is so elegant looking. My card went together really fast today!

I started with a black base and then added a layer of Whisper White. I used my cuttlebug embossing folder to add dots to the top and bottom of the white. Next I used my scor-pal to add lines to separate the plain white part from the embossed white part. I added some rubons to add a bit more of a separation. The medallions are from the BoHo Backgrounds set and they are embossed in detail black power and then punched out with the 1 and 1/2 inch circle punch. Two are layered on the scallop circle punch and one is on the Nestabilites scallop circle with added dots from my white gel pen. This one is also popped up. They all have white brads in the center. As a finishing touch I added the word Thank You from a rub on and four half pearls from the Pretties kit! I am really happy with the results.

Pez-A-Doodle is release only days away.

The release of these new Pez-A-Doodle stamps is coming up fast. You will be able to purchase them on Saturday. Since tomorrow is my blogger's challenge day I thought I would give you a few more sneak peeks today and then the last two cards with these stamps {that I have made already, not forever} will be uploaded on Saturday. You can look at these previous posts to see other samples that you may have missed. Click here, here and here These stamps are certainly different than any I have worked with before -- so fun.

This first card is using the Scrollybugs set. I stamped the image twice, once on Whisper White and once on velum. I then cut out the center part of the Whisper White one and layered it over the velum one. I stamped the words Happy Hello underneath so it would show through. This is one of those cards that you may have to click on to be able to see the details.

This next card is using the backgrounds stamp set. This stamp is just so pretty. I has such a delicate pattern of flowers. And I love it matched up with the My Dear, Kind and Wonderful Friend stamp from Stampin Up! Simple but elegant card.

Don't forget to check out Marti's blog for her giveaways.

Happy Thursday, see ya all tomorrow for the Blogger's challenge. I need to go check out what the challenge is this week, YIKES --I am ALWAYS last minute so I guess technically I still have plenty of time, lol.

Bling, Bling, Bling and a few more players for this weeks sketch.

Do ya think I went too far? There is lots of little crystals on this card. I actually love the bold and bright colors. This was a fun card to make. It is for a sketch challenge on one of my groups where we are assigned partners and then we send them our challenge card. I am so glad I made the card before I checked my partner because I would have changed it if I knew who it was going to. I am not too sure she likes bold brights but I am going to entice her with this, lol. Besides it is always great to have samples that are made with a different style than our own right.

There is a lot going on here but that is what I was looking for. The circle of flowers is from the Enjoy Every Moment set and I colored each flower individually so that they would alternate the Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie colors. I loved how the flowers kind of matched the paper which is from the Summer Picnic collection {love this paper}. I added a mini crystal in the center of all the flowers. {enlarge the image to see the details}. The center flower is from the hostess set Cause for Celebration. This one is stamped in Real Red and popped up. There is a rhinestone brad in the center too. I am not real happy with the picture but after 15 attempts I could not get a better one so I apologize.

Stamps: Cause for Celebration, Enjoy Every Moment
Paper: Summer Picnic, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Whisper White
Ink: Real Red
Other: rub on sentiment, lots of bling, cuttlebug, nestabilities
