It has been a long time since I playing with a step it up challenge. I was browsing around blog hopping this morning and seen the Beate was back with a weekend sketch challenge. So I thought I would play along. So I made a quick and simple card with the sketch and then stepped it up a bit with some more embellishments. I used to love to do this but it has been a LONG time. So anyway here is the original sketch from Beate's blog. And of course my first simple card....
Next I added some brads, a button, ribbon and an additional sentiment on a flag type strip.
What do you think? Which do you like better? By the way this is card 18 in the Your Hired- 100% current Stampin Up series.
Stamps: Upsy Daisy, Friendly words jumbo wheel
Paper: Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, So Saffron dp
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze
Other: markers to edge some layers and add dots.
Step it up additions:
Sweet Little Sentiments stamps set, brads, button, ribbon, more edging with marker.
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you had a great Valentine's Day!

These are so great!! I really like the color combo! You did an amazing job with these challenges. I have never played in a step it up challenge. It looks like so much fun! I just love all the embellishments you added to the second card! It really finished it off nicely!

Beautiful cards, Mary Jo! I love that you showed both versions. The step it up card is awesome!
Thanks for playing.
Hugs and smiles
Both cards are wonderful, so glad to see them both. The second is definitely a step up, but you'd never know that the first was "lacking" if you didn't see the second. Hmmm, I may have to look into this step it up challenge. ;D
Great job with the long card. I like the added brads, but I never can just "leave it". more great acrds MJ.
Fun Colors! Definitely like the 2nd one with all the extra fun goodies!
