Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 347 (TSSC347)

Welcome welcome welcome--we are almost at the end of another year!  I hope that you had a fabulous Christmas (if you celebrate).  Mine was wonderful except for being sick most of it--but still able to spend a bit of time with my loved ones--even if a lot of it was sleeping, lol!  As much as I love the holidays I am looking forward to the new year--I love new beginnings and even though it really is not any different it seems like it is--you know like a new week or the day after your birthday--it is still just the next day but it is so much more refreshing to approach it as a brand new opportunity.  Anyway you look at it I hope you have a Happy New Year!  So now let's check out the new sketch for this end/beginning of the year challenge.

And here is my sample.....

The battery on my camera needs to be charged so I had the take the pictures pretty fast and unfortunately it was hard to get a good picture with all the light colors.  I think the card turned out fun--I always make one new year card each year although I don't do anything with them?  But it is a tradition to post one each year so this is the one for this year.  I used the In This Together stamp set--this cutie has not seen ink before.  Perfect for a New Year's celebration!
Stamps: In this together, Typeset photopolymer stamps
Paper: Basic Black, Soft Sky, Whisper White and DP, glitter paper
Ink: Basic Black
Other: blendabilities, candy dots, rhinestones,  nestabilities, glitter pen

Now for the real inspiration--the design team's samples....

Nicole Tugrul

Robbie

They really are an amazing group these ladies!  I love each of their samples.
Thanks girls, you are the best!
Now it is YOUR turn to play!
Hope to see your sample below on the linky tool.

Remember you have a full week.

Here are some basic rules for the challenge....
  1. You have a full week to play along!
  2. Create a new card using the sketch as your inspiration.
  3. Use any products you choose.
  4. Add your card to your blog or other on-line spot and link back to this challenge.
  5. Come back here and add a direct link to your sample for the challenge and NOT you home page of your blog--people will not look for your challenge card--trust me.
  6. And this one is not really a rule but a request--get rid of that word verification!  It makes it hard for us to comment on your samples.  It is easier for you to delete the spam then for us to jump through tons of hoops to comment.  If your put your comments on moderation you do not have to worry about spam--you will have the option to delete it BEFORE it ever goes on your blog so you will ALWAYS be safe!
  7. Have fun and tell you friends to play too!
    Add your sample below
    Thanks!  Mary Jo

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 346 (TSSC346)

Can you believe it is only days from Christmas!  Oh my--I really have a lot to get done.  Been really busy as you probably can tell by my lack of posts--I have only been getting this post done and not much more--sorry.  At least I am keeping up with the sketch challenges--kinda-I never had a sample for last week.  Anyway, I hope you are ready for the holiday and that you will have a little down time so you can play along this week.  I have a great sketch for you to try and I know you will need a little break from everything at some point this week!  At least I know I will, lol!  So let's get right to it.  Here is this week's sketch.....

I think it is a pretty easy one--and fun too!
I shortened mine to a regular size card because I was adding it to a gift set for a friend that I bowl with.  I made here six cards two each of three different designs with the peacock--she loves peacocks, so I am sure she will enjoy these!  They were fun to color too. I will share the other ones with you soon.  I have lots of cards made and ready to share I just don't have the time to sit down and post them.   Here is my sample:

I have really been obsessed with these colors as of late--I bet you knew that!  But they really are so pretty on the peacock--and close to true colors too.  I left the rest of the card plain and simple.  And the inside has a partial peacock image in black, not colored--and then it is left bland for note cards.
Stamps: Perfect Peacock
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, Island Indigo, All is Calm DP
Ink: Momento
Other: ribbon, circle dies, scallop edge punch, blendibilities

Now for the rest of the Design Teams samples....

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 345 (TSSC345)

Moving right along and getting awful close to Christmas!  Are you ready?  I can say that I am NOT even close.  As a matter of fact I don't even have a card to share with you for this week's sketch--good thing my design team has some great samples.  I have been feeling pretty lousy with some pretty bad flare ups of my Fibromyalgia,  Interesting enough I think the flare ups may be related to the foods I have been eating--so that is going to be something I will be testing out over the next few weeks.  We can only hope for some relief.  Anyway, I am here to share the sketch with you for this week in hopes that you will want to play along!  It is a good one and the teams rocked it as always.  Here is this week's sketch......

And the team's designs!  If I feel better soon I will get one posted for you too!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 344 (TSSC344)

Am I the only one who has not even started Christmas shopping yet.  I am feeling a bit overwhelmed this year.  I have no idea what to get my 14 year old son and then of course there are all those people that you only see once a year but are expected to buy gifts for--don't get me started on this, lol.  Anyway I hope that you are a bit closer to being ready than I am--and that you take time to remember what the true meaning of Christmas is--it is such a hectic time sometimes it is all over and we find we hardly thought of Jesus at all during the chaos.  After all if it was not for him there would not even be a Christmas!  Ok, how about if I get to the sketch for this week, it is a simple one-----

It is open to so many different ideas, I decided to make my card a birthday card--simply because I bought this set and matching punch and have not used it yet--so it seem like the perfect time to let is see some action!

Those of you who visit my blog often know that I love black as an accent for my designs.  I am loving the black borders on all the layers that make the black sentiments finish pulling the entire design together.  Fun card. I used the following supplies:
Stamps: Create a Cupcake
Paper: Pear Pizazz, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, DP
Ink: Basic Black, Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizazz
Other: cupcake punch, rhinestones, black marker

How about checking out what the rest of the design team did with the sketch?!

Love all the different ideas.  Bet you can come up with a few more and I can not wait to see what it is you do come up with.  Remember to come on back and link up to the linky tool below.

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 343 (TSSC343)

Hello my friends!  Can you believe it is already the first of December!  Holy sh--!  I am so not ready for the holiday!  I am crazy with too much other stuff--like the new embroidery machine I just bought myself yesterday--Merry Christmas to me--of course I don't even know how to sew more than a straight stitch so it will take a bit to learn--learned how to thread it today and played along for a bit.  But of course since it is Sunday night I had to think about the new sketch challenge.  So I put the embroidering down and worked on the sketch--hope you have time to play along too.  Here is the sketch for you to try this week......

I think this is a really fun sketch--although I really didn't like my card at all, lol. Too much other stuff on my mind. But sorry to say you are still going to see it! Here is my sample...

It was one of those cards that just kept going and going--I couldn't get it to look like I wanted it to.  And the colors on the picture are pretty bad too.

Stamps:  Flower Patch, A Dozen Thoughts
Paper: Basic Black, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Flower Pot DP
Ink: Basic Black, Lost Lagoon
Other: sequins, oval dies, Flower Flair dies, rhinestones, thread

Here is the rest of the team's designs--they did a great job!

Amazing!  I love all of them--why didn't I think of any of those ideas?!
Thanks girls, you really rocked this one.
Now it is your turn to play along--YES, you!
