Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 303 (TSSC303)

So as I said in the previous post there are some problems with the linky tool but we are told that any new linkys will works so we are moving right along.  But I will say that I have had a really bad week and my sample is quite lame, lol.  I have a flooded craft room and lots of other things going on at the same time so I made my sample with some scraps that were left over from my last card class!  Sometimes you just have to make do--ya know.  Here is this week's sketch....

Here is my sample....

I had left over pieces from a card I made for Valentines using this same sketch--I changed out the Soft Sky for Pool Party in the new card. Here is that earlier card for reference since it uses the same sketch....

And now how about the rest of the teams samples...you will love them!

I told you they were amazing--hope this is a better week for all of us and that we have time to create.  If you do create something with this sketch please remember to come on back and add your direct link to the linky tool below.
Here are a few rules of play....

  1. You have a full week to play along!
  2. Create a new card using the sketch as your inspiration.
  3. Use any products you choose.
  4. Add your card to your blog or other on-line spot and link back to this challenge.
  5. Come back here and add a direct link to your sample for the challenge and NOT you home page of your blog--people will not look for your challenge card--trust me.
  6. And this one is not really a rule but a request--get rid of that word verification!  It makes it hard for us to comment on your samples.  It is easier for you to delete the spam then for us to jump through tons of hoops to comment.  If your put your comments on moderation you do not have to worry about spam--you will have the option to delete it BEFORE it ever goes on your blog so you will ALWAYS be safe!
  7. Have fun and tell you friends to play too!

    Thanks, Mary Jo

Oh, Happy Birthday--Try Stamping on Tuesday!

It is our birthday this week--so why not celebrate with us by creating a card with our sketch.  It is a really fun one and I think you will want to join along.  Here is my sample....

I had fun combining the Starburst Sayings stamp set with the single stamp Happy Birthday from the You're Amazing set.  I don't own that set, just the single image that was available a while back. I think it made a really fun birthday card--especially with these colors.  Real Red, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and a touch of Black!  Love it!

Stamps: Starburst Sayings, Happy Birthday single from You're Amazing, Itty Bitty Bits
Paper: Real Red, Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black, Fresh Prints DP
Ink: Pool Party and Real Red
Other: startburst framelits, bitty bits punch pack, circle framelits, black marker

Here is the sketch for this week....

The twist for this week is...anything goes

Come on over and play along--there are lots of great samples form the rest of the team to be seen too

Happy Today!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 301!

A brand new sketch for you--I think it is a fun one although I have been feeling pretty lousy for a few day and it seems to be playing havoc on my mo-jo so I do not like my sample at all-but maybe I will re-do one later in the week when I have more energy--I don't know about you and were you are but around here I have had just about ENOUGH of the snow and cold.  I could use a few days of sun to lift the spirits, ya know.  Anyway, here is this week's sketch.....

And my sample....

I was thinking simple and masculine--I think I just got plain, lol!
Oh well, it happens to us all once in a while right?!
The samples from the team are fabulous though so don't worry you will be inspired.

Details about my card:
Stamps: Peachy Keen
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, So Saffron and Retro Fresh DP
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar
Other: Retro Fresh Washi Tape, banner framelits

Now for the team's samples:

Simple Stems--oh so pretty!

I was not going to get this set as I have so many flower stamps but I talked myself into it and I am so glad.  Not only does it work with the framelits from the Secret Garden set but it is really pretty simply stamped randomly on your cards.  Creating my own Designer Paper!   Love it.

Don't you think they are beautiful.  Love the colors, Real Red, Pool party, So Saffron and Basic Black--two cards about 10 minutes max.  That the way I like it.

Stamps:  Simple Stems, Perfect Pennants
Paper: Real Red, Pool Party, So Saffron, Whisper White
Ink: Real Red, So Saffron, Pool Party, Basic Black
Other: black marker, banner framelits, rhinestones, Decorative Dots embossing folder

Happy Today--it is my 17th wedding anniversary today!

Pink and Red thank you!

Valentine colors for a non-Valentine, lol.  Why not I did non-Valentine for a Valentine last week.  So I thought it would be fun to turn it around for this week's Try Stamping on Tuesday Challenge.  Here is my card...

I used my brand new Just Saying stamp set with matching framelits.  Pretty fun to work with.  I used the wide oval to make the big bubble for the Awesome Thanks sentiment.  I put the card stock on the bottom of the die only and cut the bottom then put only the top in the top part and cut that.  Does that even make sense--you need to be careful to only cut one edge.  It made a nice wide bubble with the sides cut off so I could mount it on a piece of Real Red to make it pop.  The sketch twist for the week is Red, Pink and White--of course I added Black to make it pop!   Here is the sketch

Twist: Red, white and pink

Card details:  Stamps: Just Saying, Yippee-Skippee
Paper: Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Whisper White and Frush Prints DP
Ink: Real Red
other: word bubble framelits, black and red  marker, bakers twine, rhinestone, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack:

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge 300! ( TSSC300)

It is times like today that really make me say--NO WAY--I can't believe I have been doing these sketches now for 300 weeks.  That is almost six years!  Crazy really--how the heck do I come up with that many sketches, I wonder if I went through them all if there would be any doubles, lol.  I bet there are some close to others for sure.  Anyway, let's get going on sketch number 300!  Here it is......

And my sample--I came to post this and realized I did the wrong sketch--go figure! So I had to hurry up and make another one. It is always something!Hence my five minute card--and you know what?!  I like it!

Stamps: Oh Hello
Paper: Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White and Fresh Prints DP
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Basic Black
Other marker, framelits, nestabilities, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

Now for the amazing Design Teams samples-I am sure they spent more than five minutes on their cards--they are fabulous!
